Mattair Springs has two marked horse trails. The perimeter trail is marked with white diamonds and the interior trail is marked with yellow diamonds; the blue diamonds are a shortcut back to the parking area.

Visitors may also enjoy biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing on administrative roads and designated trails. The Florida National Scenic Trail traverses the Camp Branch tract along the river.

Access

Mattair Springs tract from Live Oak:
Travel north on US 129, turn right on CR 136A; travel east 1 mile to 85th Road; travel north 1 mile, turn right on 75th Drive. The entrance to the Mattair Springs tract is approximately 1 mile on the left.

Camp Branch tract from White Springs:
Travel west on CR 25A, turn left past the Camp Branch road sign onto an unnamed road; follow road approximately 1 mile to the parking area.

Prescribed Fire Notices:

Prescribed fire Operations will be conducted on the following tract(s) on 2/19/2018:

1) The Woods Ferry tract in Columbia County. Prescribed fire activities will be conducted in the central part of the tract north of the main public road.

2) The Natural Well Branch tract in Taylor County. Prescribed fire activities will be conducted north of the river, in the central part of the tract.

3) The Middle Aucilla WMA - Mount Gilead tract in Taylor County. Prescribed fire activities will be conducted on the northern end of the tract on both sides of the main public road.
