On these primitive tracts, visitors may enjoy biking, hiking, and horseback riding on administrative roads, in addition to fishing and hunting. Many of the river access points provide launches for canoes or small boats.

Mt. Gilead and Lamont are part of the Middle Aucilla Wildlife Management Area. For more information on hunting, contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at:
Access

Mt. Gilead tract from Monticello:
Travel south on CR 257 to Lamont, cross US 19; travel 9 miles south crossing the Aucilla River, turn left on Rocky Ford Cemetery Road; travel 2 miles and the entrance is on the left.

Lamont tract from Monticello:
Travel south on CR 257 to Lamont, cross US 19; travel 3 miles to Lanier Grade, turn left and travel .75 miles, turn right on an unnamed road; travel .25 miles to the tract entrance.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
September 9, 2018 - The Mallory Swamp ATV is now closed and will reopen in April after Spring Turkey Season.

July 24, 2018 - The Ellaville Tract Trailwalker Trail, trailhead, and public access on the south side of Highway 90 near the Suwannee River in Madison County is closed due to timber harvesting operations until further notice.

April 24, 2018 - The Bay Creek tract has been closed to vehicles until further notice due to extreme wet conditions.

August 17, 2017 -
The boardwalk at Pot Springs on the Withlacoochee tract in Hamilton County is closed for renovations.
