Water Supply Planning
Section 373.036, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) to conduct a water supply assessment at least once every five years. The assessment is required to provide the following information:
Existing legal uses, reasonably anticipated future needs, and existing and reasonably anticipated sources of water and conservation efforts

Whether existing and reasonably anticipated sources of water and conservation efforts are adequate to supply water for all existing legal uses and reasonably anticipated future needs and to sustain the water resources and related natural systems.

The SRWMD conducted the Water Supply Assessment (2015-2035).  The final version of the Water Supply Assessment (2015-2035) is available for review here. The Governing Board accepted the document at the July 10, 2018 Governing Board meeting.

The potential solutions for sustainable water supply are regional in scope. As a result, the North Florida Regional Water Supply Partnership was formed with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD), and SRWMD. Additional Partnership information is available at www.northfloridawater.com. The two districts have implemented a joint regional water supply plan. The approved regional water supply plan report covering the 2015-2035 planning period is available here.
