Over 105,000 acres of District lands are available for deer, hog, turkey, and small game hunting. The majority of these lands are part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) or Wildlife Environmental (WEA) programs.

For more information about WMA/WEAs, contact the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at 386.758.0525 to request the annual WMA/WEA brochures or stop by your local tax collector's office to pick up a copy.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
August 23, 2016 - Steinhatchee Falls Park and L. A. Bennett Grade between SR 51 and SE Yorkshire Road is open.  Steinhatchee Springs, Steinhatchee Rise, Steinhatchee Falls and Devil's Hammock tracts are open to vehicles. For information contact Edwin McCook 386-647-3106 or recreation@srwmd.org.

June 23, 2016 - Signs are posted closing portions of the Mill Creek South tract  to the public due to timber harvesting operations.  The tract will be closed until further notice.  For information contact Bob Heeke 386-647-3166 or recreation@srwmd.org.

January 21, 2016 - Road 55-4 in the Steinhatchee Springs tract located on the west side of SR 51 has been closed to vehicles due to extreme wet conditions.
